This bill provides accidental disability retirement benefits for Lawrence R. Hrazanek, a participant in World Trade Center rescue, recovery, and cleanup operations who was employed as a senior investigator by the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance. The bill entitles Hrazanek to a 75% accidental disability retirement benefit based on the determination that he was permanently incapacitated for the performance of his duties as a result of his participation in the World Trade Center operations. The costs associated with implementing this act will be borne by the State of New York, and the bill will take effect immediately.
