This bill permits certain "twenty-five year retirement program dispatcher members" in the New York City Employees' Retirement System (NYCERS) to file elections not to participate in the program. Specifically, it allows NYCERS Tier 4 and Tier 6 members who are part of the Dispatcher 25-Year Retirement Plan and were over age 30 when they joined the plan, another 180-day period to opt out of the plan. The bill also requires the retirement system to post and announce the form and instructions for dispatcher members to elect not to participate on its website within 30 days of the bill's effective date. If the retirement system fails to do so, the period for dispatcher members to elect not to participate is extended by 60 days for each month or part thereof that the form and instructions are not posted.
