This bill amends the Social Services Law to require all state and private agencies with mandatory reporters of incidents involving vulnerable people to retrain all staff on reporting such incidents to a 9-1-1 operator and the county district attorney's office. It also requires these agencies to update all written materials, such as training manuals, informational brochures, and posters, to direct reporting to a 9-1-1 operator and the county district attorney's office, instead of the Justice Center. The bill also increases the penalty for knowingly and willfully failing to report a case of suspected abuse or neglect from a Class A misdemeanor to a Class E felony.
