This bill, the Reforestation, Nurseries, and Genetic Resources Support Act of 2023 (also known as the RNGR Support Act of 2023), directs the Secretary of Agriculture, through the Forest Service, to provide assistance and support for nurseries and seed orchards. The key provisions include: partnering with federal, state, tribal, and private entities to provide training, technical assistance, and research; promoting information sharing to improve knowledge and address challenges in the reforestation pipeline; providing technical and financial assistance for international nursery and tree establishment programs; and establishing a grant program to support the development, expansion, and improvement of nursery production capacity, seed collection and storage, and workforce development. The bill authorizes $25 million in annual funding for fiscal years 2024 through 2028 to carry out these activities.
