This bill, the Reforestation, Nurseries, and Genetic Resources Support Act of 2024 (or the RNGR Support Act of 2024), directs the Secretary of Agriculture to provide assistance in support of nurseries and seed orchards. It establishes a grant program to support eligible recipients, including state forestry agencies, Indian tribes, and private nurseries, to develop, expand, or improve nursery production capacity, establish or expand nurseries or seed orchards, implement quality control measures, promote workforce development, and engage in other related activities. The bill authorizes $25 million in appropriations for each fiscal year from 2025 to 2029 to carry out these provisions, and also allows the Secretary to obligate up to $5 million per fiscal year from the Reforestation Trust Fund for this purpose.
