This bill establishes an Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander (AANHPI) leadership institute within the State University of New York (SUNY) to foster the success of AANHPI leaders at the university president and president's cabinet level. The institute will develop initiatives such as candidate identification, search committee training, professional development, and other programs to support AANHPI professionals within SUNY. The bill also creates an eight-member advisory council to provide guidance and advice to the institute. The executive director of the institute will report annually to the governor, assembly speaker, and senate majority leader on the institute's activities.
