This bill exempts the purchase of oral hygiene products, including toothbrushes, toothpaste, tooth powders, mouthwash, dental floss, and other similar products, from the payment of sales tax. The bill amends the tax law to add a new paragraph to an existing section that lists items exempt from sales tax. The bill will take effect immediately and apply to taxable years beginning on or after the first of January next succeeding the date it becomes law.
