Bill Summary
This bill requires long-term care facilities to submit reports regarding residents with disabilities. Under the bill, each long-term care facility is to report the total number of residents with a disability, the number of residents with each category of disability, which categories are to be determined by the Department of Health in consultation with the Department of Human Services, and the ranges in age of residents with each category of disability. Thereafter, a long-term care facility is to report to the Department of Health whenever there is a change in the total number of residents with a disability, the number of residents with each category of disability, and the ranges in age of residents with each category of disability. The bill defines "long-term care facility" to mean a nursing home, assisted living residence, comprehensive personal care home, residential health care facility, or dementia care home licensed pursuant to P.L.1971, c.136 (C.26:2H-1 et seq.).
AI Summary
This bill requires various licensed long-term care facilities, including nursing homes and assisted living residences, to report data about their residents with disabilities to the Department of Health. Initially, these facilities must report the total number of residents with disabilities, how many fall into specific disability categories (which the Department of Health will define in consultation with the Department of Human Services), and the age ranges for residents within each disability category. Subsequently, facilities must report any changes to this information. The Department of Health will then categorize this data by disability type and publish it quarterly on its website, including the total number of residents with disabilities, the breakdown by disability category, and age ranges for residents at each facility. The Commissioner of Health is authorized to create necessary regulations to implement these reporting requirements.
