This bill allows licensed clinical social workers to directly bill the NJ FamilyCare program, which is New Jersey's Medicaid program, for covered services provided to program beneficiaries. The bill requires the Division of Medical Assistance and Health Services or managed care organizations that contract with the division to accept and reimburse claims for services submitted by licensed clinical social workers, as long as the services are rendered to NJ FamilyCare beneficiaries, are covered under the program, and the social worker is an approved provider. The bill also directs the Commissioner of Human Services to apply for necessary state plan amendments or waivers to implement the provisions of the act and secure federal financial participation, as well as to adopt rules and regulations to implement the act.
