This bill, the Farm and Food Cybersecurity Act of 2024, directs the Secretary of Agriculture to periodically assess cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities in the agriculture and food critical infrastructure sector, and provide recommendations to enhance their security and resilience. It also requires the Secretary to conduct an annual cross-sector simulation exercise relating to a food-related emergency or disruption, involving various government and private sector entities, to assess preparedness, identify gaps, and develop best practices to improve food security and resilience. The bill aims to address cybersecurity challenges in the agriculture and food supply chain, and strengthen the sector's ability to prevent, detect, respond to, and recover from cyberattacks and incidents.
