AI Summary
This bill amends the Executive Law to require all municipalities with a population of 5,000 or more to implement SolarAPP plus by January 1, 2026. SolarAPP plus is a web-based portal developed by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory that automates plan review, produces code-compliant approvals, and issues permits for solar energy systems and energy storage systems paired with residential solar energy systems, as well as main electric panel upgrades and derates.
