This bill requires all public high schools in West Virginia to make adoption awareness materials available to students in grades 9-12 upon request. The materials must cover topics such as the benefits of adoption, different types of adoption, the reasons adoption is preferable to abortion, and resources available to assist with the adoption process. The State Board of Education is tasked with developing the standards and content for these adoption awareness materials. Additionally, the bill requires schools to provide the information to the parents or guardians of any pregnant students enrolled in the school.
