This bill adds the Classical Learning Test (CLT) to the assessments that students must take to be eligible for certain financial aid opportunities in Tennessee. It also requires public institutions of higher education to accept student scores on the CLT for admission purposes and to weigh those scores in the same manner as scores on the ACT or SAT. The bill allows the CLT to be used to assess student readiness for postsecondary education for high school graduation requirements, and it authorizes the state board of education and the Tennessee higher education commission to establish concordant scores between the CLT, ACT, and SAT.
