This bill enacts the "African American Cultural and Historical Grant Act" to create a special state fund that will support capital projects at facilities in Tennessee that highlight the contributions, culture, or history of African Americans. The Tennessee Historical Commission will administer the fund, which will consist of appropriated state funds as well as gifts, grants, and other donations. The Commission will establish guidelines for grant applications and awards, prioritizing projects that create new facilities in areas with cultural significance, enhance facilities named for significant African Americans, or restore historic African American sites. The bill requires the Commission to submit annual reports on the program's status and grant allocations.
