This bill revises the requirements for reimbursement from the "Emergency Medical Technician Training Fund" in New Jersey. It allows any agency, organization, or entity that provides training and testing for volunteer emergency medical technicians to be eligible for reimbursement, regardless of whether the ambulance, first aid, or rescue squad employing the volunteer receives any payment for providing emergency medical services. The bill also establishes a process for the head of the ambulance, first aid, or rescue squad to determine if a volunteer emergency medical technician is in good standing and seek reimbursement from the technician if they cease to be a volunteer in good standing during their initial three-year certification period, with an exception for those attending a public or private institution of higher education. The bill also directs the Commissioner of Health to adopt rules and regulations to implement its provisions, and sets the effective date as the first day of the seventh month after enactment.
