This bill requires a law enforcement agency that receives a report of a person failing a firearm background check due to a final protective order or violating a protective order to immediately notify the victim. It also requires the Secretary of State Police to notify the Maryland State Police Gun Center if a firearm application is disapproved because the applicant failed a background check, and requires licensees to notify the Gun Center if they do not sell or transfer a firearm due to a failed background check. The bill also expands the responsibilities of the Maryland State Police Gun Center to track and report on background check denials for firearm applicants in the state.
