This bill appropriates $3,350,000 in fiscal year 2025 from the general fund to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources for a grant to the City of Carver to restore the Carver levee, which protects an important historic district from flooding in the Minnesota River. The project includes predesign, design, engineering, land acquisition, and construction to raise the height of the levee, construct internal drainage, establish maintainable setbacks, and obtain Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) certification. This appropriation is in addition to a previous appropriation for the same purpose and is available until the project is completed or abandoned.
