This bill expands the application of the construction materials special permit in Minnesota. It amends the definition of "construction materials" to include not only aggregate materials, asphalt, concrete, and recycled road materials, but also bulk materials delivered directly to a plant or production facility. Additionally, the bill increases the allowable gross vehicle weight for vehicles with six or more axles hauling construction materials, from 90,000 pounds to 99,000 pounds during the period set by the commissioner. Similarly, the bill increases the allowable gross vehicle weight for vehicles with seven or more axles hauling construction materials, from 97,000 pounds to 99,000 pounds during the same period.
