This bill amends Minnesota statutes to require physical and sexual abuse education in schools. Specifically, it mandates that school districts include multisession, multimodal, culturally inclusive, developmentally appropriate, and culturally sensitive instruction on identifying emotional and physical child abuse, recognizing sexual abuse and assault, boundary violations, grooming tactics, and strategies to promote disclosure, reduce self-blame, and mobilize bystanders. The bill also requires districts to train instructors on managing disclosures that may result during the delivery of this instruction and develop a policy on how to respond to the disclosures. The effective date for these changes is the 2025-2026 school year.
