This bill modifies visitation rights to a minor child in Minnesota. It amends the existing law to allow grandparents and great-grandparents to petition the district court for reasonable visitation rights if the minor child has a substantial established relationship with them, and the visitation is in the best interests of the child and would not interfere with the parent-child relationship. The bill also allows parties to request reconsideration of previous orders based on the amendments. Additionally, it repeals the existing provision that required the court to consider the amount of personal contact between the parents or grandparents and the child prior to the application.
