This bill establishes a task force to reassess school integration within the Metropolitan Council for Educational Opportunity (METCO) program. The task force will consist of 13 members, including legislative leaders, education officials, and former METCO program participants. The task force will evaluate the historical impact of the METCO program and make recommendations to the state legislature regarding school integration and improvements to the program. The task force is required to convene within 180 days of the effective date of the bill and submit its findings and recommendations, including any proposed legislation, within one year of the effective date.
