This bill aims to facilitate labor peace among the cannabis workforce in Massachusetts. It defines a "labor peace agreement" as an agreement between a marijuana establishment and a "bona fide labor organization" that allows union agents to inform and communicate with employees about their labor rights, including the right to form a union, in exchange for the labor organization agreeing not to engage in picketing, work stoppages, or boycotts against the marijuana establishment. The bill requires marijuana establishment applicants to submit an attestation that they will not interfere with union agents informing and communicating with employees about their labor rights, or to submit an attestation that they have entered into a labor peace agreement. The bill also requires marijuana establishments to submit a similar attestation as part of their license renewal application. Additionally, the bill directs the Cannabis Control Commission to establish and periodically update a list of bona fide labor organizations that are actively seeking employees in the Commonwealth.
