This bill establishes the Minnesota SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) Step Up for Seniors program. The program would provide a supplemental benefit to eligible seniors (individuals aged 55 or older) who receive a federal SNAP benefit less than the minimum monthly benefit amount of $50. The state would provide a supplement to increase the total benefit to at least the minimum monthly amount. The supplemental benefit would not be counted as income for other programs.
