This bill continues the regulation of money transmitters in Colorado by the banking board and state bank commissioner beyond the current scheduled repeal date of September 1, 2024. It extends the regulation until September 1, 2030 and makes some changes to the licensing and oversight process, including allowing the commissioner to issue cease and desist orders and impose penalties for failure to submit required reports. The bill also updates some terminology and makes other technical changes to the existing money transmitter regulation law.
