This bill modifies the qualifications for certain positive support providers in Minnesota. It amends the requirements for positive support analysts, who must now have a baccalaureate degree, master's degree, or PhD in a social services discipline or nursing, or meet the qualifications of a mental health practitioner, or be a certified behavior analyst. The bill also amends the requirements for positive support specialists, who must have an associate's degree in a social services discipline or nursing, or have two years of supervised experience working with individuals who exhibit challenging behaviors. The bill specifies that these changes will be effective on July 1, 2024, or upon federal approval, whichever occurs first.
