This bill establishes a fine arts teacher mentorship program within the Department of Public Instruction (DPI). DPI will contract with a Wisconsin-based nonprofit organization that is exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code to provide the mentorship program. The nonprofit organization must match the amount provided by DPI for the program. The mentorship program will include activities and resources to support beginning music, art, and performing arts teachers, such as guidance, materials, and connections with experienced mentors. The nonprofit organization must provide quarterly reports to DPI on its compliance with the program requirements and expenditures.
