This bill, known as the My Child-My Chart Act, enacts a new section of the Revised Code related to the medical records of minors. The key provisions are: 1. Health care providers must ensure that a minor's parent or guardian has access to the minor's health records in the electronic health records system, including by separating records related to care received with and without parent/guardian consent. 2. Health care providers cannot require a minor's parent or guardian to obtain the minor's authorization to access records related to care the minor received with parent/guardian consent. 3. Health care providers must annually inform parents/guardians about circumstances where minors can receive care without consent, and that records from such care may not be disclosed to parents/guardians without the minor's authorization. 4. Health care providers must provide minors an opportunity at their annual well visit to provide ongoing written consent for parent/guardian access to records related to care the minor consented to without their involvement, unless the minor has already provided such consent.
