This bill establishes the Chuckwalla National Monument in California, consisting of approximately 621,000 acres of Federal land administered by the Bureau of Land Management. The purpose of the Monument is to conserve, protect, and enhance the ecological, scenic, wildlife, recreational, cultural, historical, natural, educational, and scientific resources of the area. The bill requires the Secretary of the Interior to manage the Monument in cooperation and collaboration with culturally affiliated Native American tribes, and allows for the continued use of the Monument for traditional cultural purposes and recreational activities. The bill also expands the boundaries of Joshua Tree National Park by approximately 17,842 acres.
