This bill, the Joshua Tree National Park Expansion Act of 2024, amends the California Desert Protection Act of 1994 to expand the boundary of Joshua Tree National Park by approximately 20,149 acres of land. The bill transfers administrative jurisdiction over the additional land from the Bureau of Land Management to the National Park Service and allows the Secretary of the Interior to acquire the land through donation, purchase from willing sellers, exchange, or transfer. The bill also makes a technical correction to the map referenced in a previous law.
