This bill provides for the automatic renewal of off-track wagering licenses in New Jersey. Specifically, the bill states that the New Jersey Racing Commission shall renew any off-track wagering license that is valid on, or issued after, the effective date of this bill, upon the filing of the necessary renewal forms and payment of any required renewal fees, provided the commission determines the necessary qualifications have been satisfied. This bill removes the previous requirement that off-track wagering licenses be valid for only one year and instead allows the commission to determine the length of the license period. The bill also deletes provisions related to the commission developing progress benchmarks for off-track wagering licensees and the bidding process for off-track wagering licenses.
