This bill authorizes the town of Westford to release agricultural preservation restrictions over land owned by Westford Gateway, LLC. The bill specifies that the land to be released is located along the northeasterly side of Boston Road and that this land will be acquired by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation for the rehabilitation of Boston Road. As mitigation, the Department of Transportation will provide funding to the town of Westford that is at least 110% of the fair market value or value in use of the impacted lands, which the town must use within 3 years to acquire replacement land of comparable location, natural resource value, acreage, and monetary value. The Department of Transportation will also cover all costs associated with executing the release.
