This bill establishes Joint Operations Centers along the southern border of the United States. The Centers will provide unified coordination hubs for law enforcement from multiple federal, state, local, and tribal agencies to collaborate on various border-related operations, such as deterring and detecting criminal activity from transnational criminal organizations, illegal border crossings, weapons and drug seizures, terrorism, human trafficking, and drug trafficking. The Centers will facilitate information sharing, coordinate workforce deployment and training, and the Secretary of Homeland Security will report to Congress annually on the efforts, resources, operations, and any communication gaps identified. The key participating federal agencies include the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense, and Department of Justice.
