This bill extends a pause on the collection of student growth objective (SGO) data and administrator goals data for educators in New Jersey during the 2024-2025 school year and subsequent years until the next expiration and readoption of N.J.A.C.6A:10 (a specific administrative code related to educator evaluations). During this period, educators will primarily use existing SGO or administrator goal data from their most recent completed year for evaluations. First-year employees, those without pre-existing objectives, and non-tenured staff will still be required to set and collect new objectives. Educators who are not required to complete annual objectives may voluntarily do so, with the option to have those scores applied to their evaluations. Teachers and administrators who are eligible to attain tenure before February 15 will not need to set new objectives for that year, while those becoming tenured after February 15 must set and collect new data. After the next expiration and readoption of N.J.A.C.6A:10, school districts will implement new guidelines for SGO data collection based on recommendations from the New Jersey Educator Evaluation Review Task Force. The bill aims to provide flexibility in the educator evaluation process while maintaining a framework for professional assessment.
