This bill removes the existing legal restriction on motorcycle handlebar height in Oklahoma, which previously prohibited handlebars from being higher than the eye level of the motorcycle operator. By deleting this specific provision from Section 12-609 of Title 47 of the Oklahoma Statutes, the bill effectively allows motorcycle riders to have handlebars of any height. The bill maintains all other existing motorcycle equipment requirements, such as mandatory rearview mirrors, windshields or protective eyewear, speedometers, fenders, horns, and mufflers. Additionally, the existing requirement that riders under 18 years old must wear a crash helmet compliant with federal standards remains in place.
