This bill extends the sunset date for the Archives and Records Commission from July 1, 2025, to July 1, 2028. The Commission is a state-level body composed of key government officials, including the Governor's appointee as Chairman, the State Librarian as Vice Chairman and Secretary, and ex officio members such as the Lieutenant Governor, State Auditor and Inspector, and State Treasurer. The bill maintains the Commission's existing authority to manage and dispose of public records and archives for state officers, departments, boards, commissions, agencies, and institutions, while explicitly excluding records from political subdivisions and the confidential files of the Oklahoma Tax Commission. By re-creating the Commission under the Oklahoma Sunset Law, the bill ensures the continued operation and oversight of state records management for an additional three years.
