AI Summary

This bill allows the Commissioner of Public Safety to enter into interlocal agreements with state beneficiary public trusts regarding policing and setting speed limits on roads owned by these trusts. The bill amends several sections of Oklahoma statutes to grant officers of the Department of Public Safety expanded authority to enforce traffic laws and investigate violations on roads located on lands owned by state beneficiary public trusts. Specifically, the bill modifies existing laws to clarify that Department of Public Safety officers can now investigate and enforce speed limits, conduct traffic stops, and perform other law enforcement activities on roads owned by these public trusts. The bill also updates language related to public trusts, including provisions about their governance, financial reporting, and operational capabilities. The changes are technical in nature and aim to provide clearer legal guidelines for interactions between public safety officials and state beneficiary public trusts. The bill is set to become effective on November 1, 2025, giving state agencies time to prepare for the new regulations.
