This bill appropriates $100,000 from the state treasury to the Department of Agriculture, Markets, and Foods for the two-year period ending June 30, 2027, with these funds to be distributed by the State Conservation Committee to the state's 10 county conservation districts to establish and run a climate resilience grant program. The State Conservation Committee, a body established to oversee conservation efforts, will be responsible for implementing and administering this new grant program, provided that the county conservation districts have met their annual financial reporting obligations. The bill also specifies that it will take effect 60 days after its passage.
