This bill prohibits the division of motor vehicles from suspending, revoking, or failing to renew a person's driver's license solely because they owe money for towing or storage fees for their vehicle, regardless of why the vehicle was towed or stored. It also mandates that any licenses already suspended for this reason must be reinstated without a reinstatement fee, and individuals whose licenses were not renewed for this reason can immediately renew them without a separate reinstatement charge. Additionally, the bill clarifies that when a justice of the circuit court or superior court considers suspending a license for offenses related to motor vehicles, the driver must have received reasonable notice that license suspension was a possibility before the hearing, and such suspension cannot be for reasons already prohibited by RSA 263.
