This bill establishes a "Commission on General Court Safety and Security" to study and report on the feasibility of implementing various safety and security measures within the New Hampshire state house complex. The commission will be comprised of the governor or their designee, two representatives from the House of Representatives, two senators, the general court director of safety services, and designees from the New Hampshire Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, the Department of Safety, the Division of State Police, the Division of Emergency Services and Communications, and the Concord Fire Department. Their study will include evaluating the use of metal detectors, x-ray machines, security cameras, visitor identification, staff badges, policies on carrying weapons, security training, and responses to public threats against lawmakers and staff. The commission is tasked with submitting an interim report by November 1, 2025, and a final report by November 1, 2026, after which the commission will be repealed.
