This bill requires the State Departments of Education and Health to develop comprehensive guidelines for preventing and managing exertional heat-related illnesses in secondary school athletics. The bill defines key terms such as "exertional heat-related illness" (a serious medical condition resulting from the body's inability to cool itself in hot environments) and "Wet Bulb Globe Temperature" (WBGT, a measure of heat stress considering temperature, humidity, wind speed, and other atmospheric factors).
