This bill introduces the Safe Screens for Kids Act, which aims to protect minors on social media platforms by implementing several key restrictions and requirements. The legislation defines a social media platform as a website or internet medium that allows users to create profiles, share content, and interact socially, and establishes comprehensive protections for users under 18 years old. Social media platforms will be required to obtain written parental consent before a minor can create an account, verify the age of users through reasonable methods, and provide parents full access to their child's account.
