This bill amends existing Oklahoma state law to expand child care support for state government employees by adding a new provision that makes individuals employed by the State of Oklahoma eligible for the Child Care Subsidy Program administered by the Department of Human Services. The bill maintains the existing framework where the Director of the Office of Management and Enterprise Services can approve and administer child care centers for state employees' minor dependents, and preserves the current priority system for filling child care center spaces. Specifically, minor dependents of state employees will continue to have the highest priority for available spaces, followed by children financially eligible for Department of Human Services child care assistance. The bill also retains provisions allowing the Director to establish child care center rates consistent with local industry standards and authorizes the Office of Management and Enterprise Services, Department of Human Services, and Oklahoma State Department of Health to assist in implementing these child care provisions. The changes will become effective on November 1, 2025, providing state employees with expanded child care support options.
