This bill modifies Oklahoma's motor vehicle registration notification requirements by mandating that Service Oklahoma (the state's vehicle registration agency) send renewal notifications through United States mail and, if an email address is provided, through electronic mail as well. Specifically, the bill requires weekly email notifications until the registration is renewed, and if no email address is available, notifications will be sent solely through mail. The notifications must include all necessary registration information, such as a breakdown of charges and renewal instructions. The bill maintains the existing provision that failure to receive a renewal notification does not exempt a vehicle owner from renewing their registration on time. The bill also allows Service Oklahoma to adjust mailing costs to account for postal service fee changes and specifies that the cost of mailing is currently $1.00 for license plates and $0.50 for decals, titles, or other forms. The amendments to this section of Oklahoma statutes will become effective on November 1, 2025.
