The guide will explain the purpose, function, and potential drug interactions of medications commonly used by this age group, and will also detail the effects of mixing these medications with alcohol. A prominent caution will be printed on the first page, advising readers to consult healthcare professionals before changing medication routines. The guide will be made available free of charge through designated agencies and on the director's website, and will be translated into the six most common non-English languages spoken in New York State according to U.S. Census data. Requests for more than ten copies may be subject to a reasonable reproduction and handling fee. The director is required to periodically update the guide to ensure the information remains accurate and relevant. The bill will take effect on the first of September following its passage into law.
