By adding the new subsection, the bill ensures that transfers of Hawaiian home lands (which are lands held in trust for Native Hawaiians under the Hawaiian Homes Commission Act) will be excluded from these transfer restrictions, thereby providing more flexibility for land transfers within the Hawaiian home lands system. The bill will take effect upon approval and is designed to be a permanent amendment to the existing statute.
