This bill authorizes the director of finance to issue $38,700,000 in general obligation bonds for capital improvement projects specifically in Hawaii's Fifteenth Senatorial District during fiscal year 2025-2026. The funding will be allocated to three schools: Moanalua High School will receive $20,000,000 for a new weight room with plans, design, construction, and equipment; Radford High School will receive $16,100,000 for electrical upgrades, replacement of five portable buildings, and an artificial turf practice and baseball field; and Salt Lake Elementary School will receive $2,600,000 for installing air conditioning in specific classrooms. The bill specifies that the appropriated funds will not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium but will lapse on June 30, 2028, if unencumbered, and the Department of Education will be responsible for expending the funds for their designated purposes. The act is set to take effect on July 1, 2025.
