AI Summary

This bill modifies regulations for the Hawaii National Guard, specifically addressing the leadership structure of the Hawaii Air National Guard. The legislation allows the commander of the Hawaii Air National Guard to hold a rank of major general, as authorized by the Department of the Air Force, which is higher than the previous limit of brigadier general. The bill provides the Adjutant General with flexibility to choose either the Chief of Staff or the Assistant Adjutant General to lead the Air National Guard, removing the previous requirement that each component be headed by an Assistant Adjutant General. Additionally, the bill authorizes the pay and allowances for the Chief of Staff of the Hawaii Air National Guard to be determined according to the Regular Air Force pay tables.
