This bill provides funding for the Minnesota Alliance With Youth Promise Fellow program, appropriating $1,000,000 in both fiscal years 2026 and 2027 to the Department of Education. The Promise Fellow program aims to improve student attendance and academic engagement by creating partnerships between AmeriCorps members, schools, school districts, charter schools, and community organizations. The program will provide intervention services such as family and caregiver outreach, academic support, connections to out-of-school activities and resources, and individual and small group mentoring designed to help students return to and maintain consistent school attendance. Additionally, the Minnesota Alliance With Youth is tasked with promoting Promise Fellow program opportunities throughout the state, with the goal of supporting students who may be struggling with school attendance and academic performance.
