The bill defines "bullying procedures" as protocols for identifying, reporting, and responding to bullying, as well as providing support and safety to bullying victims. Importantly, the definition explicitly excludes medical treatment for mental health conditions resulting from bullying. The legislation aims to create a more transparent and proactive approach to addressing bullying in Hawaii's public school system, with the new requirements set to take effect on July 1, 2025.
