AI Summary

This bill provides for the creation of a new "Campaign Medal for Service" to be awarded by the Governor of New York to military service members who have served in Iraq. The medal can be given to current or former New York citizens who served on active duty in any branch of the United States Armed Forces (including army, air force, navy, marine corps, or coast guard) while deployed in Iraq. Only one medal will be issued per person, and recipients must have maintained an honorable service record.
